Why the Homeowner should always purchase a HIP themselves.
There are many unscrupulous offers being made available and there are potential traps for the unwary. There is no such thing as a free HIP. Such offers will mostly result in an increased commission because the HIP has to be paid for somewhere down the line. Do not allow others to commission your HIP as it can become their HIP and tie you to them. And, "we'll look after everything for you & nothing to pay until you've sold" can result in deferred terms of up to £100 or more!
